Workforce Communications

INTERACTIVE VOICE RESPONSE (IVR)

The IVR module provides unattended 24/7 communications between Microster and your workforce. IVR utilises existing telephony infrastructure to enable casual and part-time employees to obtain placement details, input unavailability conditions, call in "Sick" etc.

The IVR system can also be used for wake-up calls, attendance tracking and bulk personnel communication.

The Microster IVR module provides incredibly cost-effective personnel management by linking workforce management business rules with manning requirements and available, optimal personnel.

ATTENDANCE MANAGEMENT

This module is used to track personnel shift & break attendance times and reference these against the scheduled roster to highlight & process attendance exceptions. Attendance clocking can use a variety of capture devices including,

  • Fingerscan biometrics,
  • I-buttons,
  • Magnetic & Proximity readers,
  • PC input,
  • Kiosk input,
  • IVR - for remote clockings.

Attendance Clocking provides the following benefits,

  • Eliminates overpayments,
  • Minimise roster transactions,
  • Prove attendance/service delivery,
  • Eliminate timesheets.

Attendance management can be implemented selectively to only clock subsets of your workforce.

FAILED TO REPORT NOTIFICATION

This module attaches to Attendance Management allowing it to be configured to automatically notify a person from a list that an individual has failed to logon for work within a specified time from the start of a shift. The notification is via IVR or email.

WEB-BASED SELF SERVICE

This module is implemented to optimise employee communications and to introduce fully audited internet-based transaction processing. A powerful set of Roster Self Service (RSS) Business Rules support the following;

  • Leave Requests,
  • Shift Bids,
  • Swap Shift Requests,
  • Manual Allowance Entry (e.g mileage),
  • Skill Reviews,
  • View/Print Rosters,
  • Unavailability Input,
  • Attendance Clocking,
  • Personnel Communications,
  • Request Status.

Internet access supports personnel input from home or any other access site and is particularly effective for communications with part-time and/or casual employees and subcontract personnel.

Microster Self Service provides employees with fully audited input into the Workforce Management System and streamlines the request/process treatment of scheduled leave, shift swaps etc.

The ability to easily view/print "personnel rosters" supports personnel placement across multiple Cost Centres.

FATIGUE MANAGEMENT

The Microster product suite now includes a Fatigue Management Module to support optimal placement and replacement outcomes on Microster-generated rosters. Two levels of Fatigue management are now provided:

Microster Rostering Rules….

  • Minimum & Maximum Hours per Task, Shift, Day and Period,
  • Minimum & Maximum Consecutive worked days,
  • Minimum Hours between Shifts,
  • Consecutive Shift Start Time Tolerances,
  • “Clear Days” per defined period,
  • Shift/Task Patterns,
  • Shift Break conditions,
  • Task “Points”

FAID Integration – referencing of the FAID (Fatigue Algorithm Interdyne) algorithm developed by the University of South Australia to provide a Fatigue Score based on Shift/Task patterns. This option provides a fully audited “fatigue metric” that will alert or refuse specific rostering outcomes by referencing User configurable “hard” & “soft” fatigue rules.

The Microster Security Model has been enhanced to support this capability and an optional 4 levels of Task “Fatigue Profile” provide additional flexibility.
